Crossing Borders, my weekly column at Broken Frontier
Every Friday at influential comics website
Broken Frontier,
I discuss a major work from the international comics scene. Past weeks’ columns have covered books like Epileptic,
Arzach, and Hicksville. I also examine the occasional American work, like Charles Burns’s Black Hole.

The Frog Princess
My fantasy romantic comedy series, The Frog Princess, was first published in 2005 in issues 1 through 4 of the shojo manga
anthology Sakura Pakk. The art is by Rie Ikaza, in association with Indonesia’s Komikers Studios.
More importantly, however, Sakura Pakk, including The Frog Princess, has been relaunched and will be soon be distributed
by Devil's Due.

“I Married Ghost Girl”: A Maskers Tale
I wrote this story as part of a broader concept I was developing, a superhero mini series called Maskers. The art is by Argentinean artist
Oscar Capristo,
who’s been widely published in Europe and South America, as well as in several issues of Heavy
Metal in the US. The letters are by the UK’s own Simon Bowland.
“I Married Ghost Girl” will soon be published in the United Kingdom in the
Judge Dredd Megazine, and in the United States in an anthology called Shivers.

“The Ranger’s Tale”
“The Ranger’s Tale,” with art by Spanish artist Esdras ,
will be published in a fantasy anthology
produced in association with Ronin Studios, which includes among its contributors
Ryan Ottley of Invincible fame.

Hot Lead and Fast Dames
This is a hard-boiled crime series I’m developing for publication by Midnight Studios Comics.

Sick of the Living Dead
This is a zombie comedy book I scripted for Jason Powell's Albino Alligator Productions (who also produced the cancelled but not yet abandoned Fuzzy
Bunnies from Hell for Arcana). Jason and his crew are continuing to develop the project into a four-issue miniseries.

Criminal Minds
Other than CBS stealing our title and Alex Segura moving on to DC Comics as their Public Relations guy, not much new to report here. Chris Carpenter
has finished up the inks for us on this title.
